Luke's Gladiator Mock Trial Tourney

Friends and Family,

I have been presented with a very prestigious opportunity to represent myself, my school, and my state at the 2017 Gladiator world one-on-one mock trial tournament in Newport Beach, California this July 7-9.  I will be the first student to represent Tennessee and have been offered one of only two full scholarships for the tournament.  The scholarship covers the registration fee for the tournament and a few meals for myself, my dad, and my coach.  Not included in the scholarship are all wardrobe, travel, and hotel expenses. To participate in this enormous honor, I need to raise funds to cover the expenses not covered under the scholarship.

The Gladiator tournament is unique in that instead of a team competition, I will be competing on my own.  There will be four rounds, and in each round competitors take on a different role, either a prosecutor, defense attorney, prosecution witness, or defense witness.

I became involved in mock trial through Agathos Classical School in the fall of 2015 as a Sophomore.  My team finished sixth place in the state tournament where I won the second-place award for prosecuting attorney in the state after also winning a Best Attorney award at our regional tournament.  In my second year of competing at the state level, I received the Robert Horton Campbell award for the top prosecuting attorney in the state of Tennessee, along with a fifth-place team finish and another regional Best Attorney award. It was because of these honors, and assistance from top tier teammates, that I was given this incredible honor.

If you would like to and are able to help me achieve my goal to not only make it to California in July, but succeed and perform at a high level in the tournament, I would be most grateful and dutifully represent my school and my state to the best of my abilities.
