Help Luke with living expense while unable to work

Hello, my name is Sharon, and I am hoping to help a friend who, due to being the victim of an unprovoked attack on Christmas Eve , is currently in hospital awaiting surgery to repair the two breaks in his jaw, and has been told he will be in for at least a week, and unable to work for a further six weeks minimum. As a freeelancer / on short term contracts, he cannot receive any kind of sickness benefits/recompense.. So, this is to hopefully raise sufficient funds for his living expenses, eg, rent, utilities, food (to which he will be very limited due to the extent and location of his injuries.) and any other expenses , such as travel to medical appointments/ check-ups..

Luke is a good person, who has had a difficult early life, and has got himself to a well-respected position as a hard working and reliable young man. He has also had to deal recently with the loss of his dog, which left him devastated.. I have known Luke since he was around 8 years old, so feel that I am qualified to attest to his good character, and that he is deserving of assistance , while he recovers from this ordeal.
