Luke webb - A Comeback!!
Donation protected
Luke lives in the Highlands with wife Kayla, daughter Ema and son Maverick. Another Little One is due in April.
The story is now common in today's world. On Jan. 23, 2022, a robbery went bad, and Luke, the victim, was shot in the head.
The miracle is that Luke survived!! The bullet entered the left side of Luke's head, and traveled to the right side of his brain, thereby causing him to have a traumatic brain injury.
Those of you who know Luke know he provided for his family. He bought diapers, formula, food, presents, medicine, and he loved spending time with his wife and kids. He was excited about the baby on the way!
All this will come back... in time. Luke will have to learn a lot over again. He has to learn to speak again. He has difficulty communicating. He has to get his balance back. He has memory loss. He gets tired easily. Loud noises hurt him. He will have a lot of physical therapy and hard work ahead.
He will even have to learn how to play with his kids again, and in time, how to help with the baby when she arrives.
Although doctors are hopeful Luke can re-learn to speak and get his balance back, right now, and for the next several months, Luke cannot provide
the things he used to -- diapers, formula, food, medicine, and he can't buy the gas needed to get him to and from physical therapy after he gets home from the hospital (hopefully, by the end of the week).
Kayla is learning how to assist Luke when he comes home. Family is helping with the children and helping provide a home and food, and Kayla is very appreciative and grateful.
Luke has already beaten the odds! His survival is nothing short of a miracle! For those of you who do not know Luke, he is a fun-loving guy who always has placed his family and friends first. While Medicaid should help with medical needs and with the cost of physical therapy, hospital bills will be coming, and there will be doctor visit co-pays and medications.
Luke's wife, Kayla, will have her hands full with a new baby by April and with being the caregiver to Luke for the foreseeable future (the next several months).
It would help so much if Kayla could buy gas for the car, buy diapers and formula and get necessary medications and cover expenses that Medicaid will not.
We will post updates and appreciate your help!! Luke will continue to work hard at recovering from being shot in the head, and soon, he will be working hard with physical therapy and speech therapy! Luke is making a comeback!!!
