Luke Mathew's Medical Fund

Luke Mathews was born and raised in Ravalli County. When Luke was 17 he was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. Through the rest of High School Luke was able to maintain an active and social experience, participating in band and football. As life progressed Luke’s diabetes also progressed. He over came many obstacles. Luke has lost vision in his right eye, he has been in and out of the hospital. 2016, has been the most challenging year for Luke and his family. During the year Luke contracted Gangrene and had to undergo emergency surgery which hospitalized him for 3 weeks during the Christmas Holiday. We would like to thank all of the staff at St. Patrick’s Hospital in Missoula, MT for the treatment and care they provided Luke during his visit. Luke’s condition has escalated now and he must seek medical attention in Salt Lake City, Utah. Luke has not lost his passion for life and although he is no longer capable of Hunting or Floating the Bitterroot River, he often reminisces about his memories with friends and looks forward to making new memories.
