Hello,

I'm Taylor, a long-time friend of Luke Markus and the Markus Family. I've set up this fundraiser for us to help support Luke and his family as they traverse the path ahead.

For those who have not heard, Luke has been battling ALS for almost a year now. Before the diagnosis, he worked through the disabling loss of use of his right arm. He never stopped with the classic Luke smile, taking on the challenge, accepting no pity and cracking jokes. The family engaged several doctors looking for answers, and Luke eventually underwent spinal surgery to correct damaged discs in his neck. Ever resilient, Luke worked through physical therapy but instead of subsiding, the symptoms spread to include the loss of use of his left arm. After visiting several more specialists, he finally received the news no husband or father ever wanted to hear. Fortunately, he has some time to live out his dreams and spend time with his loved ones. As things progress, the challenges will increase. There are many unknowns but his resolve to share experiences with his family and get closure on this life is truly astonishing.

Funds raised will go toward helping with medical expenses and enable lifestyle alterations to help ease the family through the journey ahead. Any support would be greatly appreciated.
