Lukas Anderson University Games

Congratulations to Lukas Anderson on earning one of the five spots on the men’s speedskating team representing the United States at the World University Games in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The Winter Universiade is an international competition held every two years and is second only to the Olympics in international sports.

Lukas has been speed skating since he was 8 years old and after many years of hard work and National medals is looking forward to his first international competition.

In 2016, he graduated in the top ten from Waverly High School in Lansing, Michigan while also attending Lansing Community College. He is now in the Honors Program, majoring in software engineering, at the Milwaukee School of Engineering, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin while training with ASE at the Petit National Ice Center, an official U.S. Olympic Training Site.

This year, Lukas set the goal of making this team while maintaining a full university course load. He needs your help as the estimated costs are $4850. This will cover all travel, food, lodging, team skins, competition, and coaching costs. Ideally, in the United States, all our athletes would be better supported but this opportunity will be solely funded by the generosity of friends and family. Between years of training, nationally competing, and now engineering college, he and his family are short the funds to make this trip without your help.

Lukas and his family are grateful for any contributions to make this goal a reality.
