Luiza's healing journey

Hello friends!

This page was created to help support and heal my wife, Luiza from a recent diagnosis of stage 4 Nasophyrngeal cancer , a very rare cancer of the head and neck. This diagnosis was received in April 2023 after a long and frustrating journey of dealing with swollen and growing lymph nodes in her neck. Since 2021, after having our baby and getting hit with covid and EBV (Epstein-Barr Virus) re-activation, lymph nodes started to grow slowly. The day after Thanksgiving 2022, she felt something was wrong, and thus began a slew of medical tests, scans and biopsies. It wasn't until an excisional biopsy of a lymph node that this cancer was found in April. Most recently and unexpectedly this cancer was staged at level 4c, the latest stage, due to distant metastasis to various bones, such as hips and spine in her body.

All that said, Luiza is in good spirits, despite being uncomfortable and tired at times. She continues to parent our almost 2-year-old, and is choosing to work part-time as long as she can, as it helps her get her mind off of this life-changing event. Her faith in God and His healing is strong and knows and expects that she will be healed, as it is written, "for I am the Lord who heals you" (Exodus 15:26). It's important right now to attack the cancer from all fronts to reduce tumor growth.

We are currently narrowing down treatment options and centers all over North America, as we pray about the right treatment options for her, and attacking the cancer from every angle possible!

Expectedly with a specialized treatment, it tends to come with an expensive price tag (as all cancer treatments do unfortunately), and she is needing financial support to be treated and continued care afterward in her hometown.

We are asking first for prayer, because we believe God hears our prayers, and second, for financial support if you so feel called to give to help heal Luiza. We believe and trust that God will use these funds to heal her body and also bless you in return. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you!
