Luis's Legacy

The cheer world has lost a great one. With great sadness we report the passing of Luis Ortega Martinez. He was more than just a cheer coach and gym owner. He was a brother, uncle, our best friend, confidant, mentor and father figure. He had an impact on so many children, dancers, families, gym owners and cheerleaders throughout the world. His infectious laugh and charisma brought a smile to so many faces. He kept his door open to everyone and anyone who needed a shoulder to cry on or life advice. Luis’s legacy will live on through the lives of the people he has come across in his life. He has changed the cheer world for the better and we would like to commemorate everything Luis is about, his kids. He loved coaching and bringing happiness to each and everyone of his kids throughout the years. He loved seeing them smile and succeed. He believed in them more than life itself.

 

The support that has poured through worldwide has been incredible, we thank everyone for offering to help and asking what we need. Our goal with this fund is to continue his legacy and keep Chaos open, while also helping Luis’s family by removing some of the burden associated with medical bills, funeral expenses, and gym operating costs. In addition, we plan to start an angel fund to help support those athletes who Luis often helped that could not afford the costs associated with this great sport. Thank you in advance for donations, calls, and texts during this difficult time.
