Hello all! I'm Luis and most of you may know that I am in my final year at San Diego State University. I am pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work and I hope to use that degree to work as a social worker in a school setting. Part of completing my degree and finishing up my senior year is to fulfill a study abroad requirement. I have chosen to travel to Costa Rica through the Health and Human Services faculty led study abroad program that lasts 9 days over the course of my Spring Break. The unfortunate problem is that I have to pay for my program fee on November 19, 2018. The grand total is $1300 and it only covers the program which includes housing, some meals, activities, travel health insurance and other program fees. I am a barista at Starbucks and I also do gigs/sell clothing on the side but it is not enough to cover the program fee. I have also been completing my required 480 internship hours at Rice Elementary as a school social work intern which is why I don't have the availability to work more hours at my job. I am reaching out to my loved ones, my friends, and other acquaintances to help me with any amount to try to cover some of these expenses. The financial situation at home has been tough and aside from that, I have already taken out loans to the max in order to cover my tuition these past 4 years. Any donation helps, this GoFundMe is entirely towards completing this degree and ending my university experience on a positive note out in Costa Rica. Thank you for all the support!

Hola a todos! Yo soy Luis y si no saben todavia, yo soy estudiante en la universidad de San Diego State. Estoy en mi ultimo ano estudiando trabajo social y espero poder usar mi titulo para un dia trabajar en las escuelas con posicion de trabajador social. Parte de completar la escuela es el requisito de visitar otro paiz y estudiar alla por sierto tiempo. Yo escoji el programa de Health and Human Services que visita Costa Rica con guia de maestro. El problema es que este programa cuesta $1300 y el pago se debe el 19 de Noviembre. El precio total cubre el hotel, la comida, actividades con el grupo, y aseguranza temporaria mientras estemos alla. Ahorita yo trabajo en el Starbucks, hago shows de baile y algunas vecez vendo ropa para hacer dinero pero todo eso no es suficiente para pagar el costo del programa. Al mismo tiempo estoy cumpliendo con otro requisito de mi carera que es mi internado en la escuela Rice Elementary. Estas horas no son pagadas y mi tiempo trabajando ayi no me da la abilidad para trabajar mas horas en el Starbucks. La situacion de mi familia ha sido un poco dificil este ano y yo ya ha sacado muchos prestamos para poder pagar por la escuela. Estoy compartiendo esto con mis amigos, mi familia y todos mis conocidos para poder pedir cualquier ayuda posible. Lo que sea que gusten donar me va ayudar.
