Dear, friends, and family on July 15, 2020, I was informed that my father Luis Velez passed away. My father was a man loved by many for his sense of humor and super-fly style. Luis Velez was in a rehabilitation center due to a broken hip when he passed away. In 3 weeks, my father was planning on moving to Texas with my family now I am returning home for my father's funeral instead of moving him to Texas. In February of 2019, we lost Esael (Luis son) and now my father (Luis) is gone, these back to back losses have been devastating emotionally on our family. My family would like to take the moment to ask for your help if possible to cover the cost of arrangements.
Pops,
It won’t be easy without you because I’ve planned so much with you. I miss you and I love you so much dad, we fought and had our moments, but you always looked for me and told me “No matter what you’re my son”. No one will call me anymore to ask if I am safe to work and tell me “you might be grown but I am still your father.” I will never get to see you play baseball with my son or take him swimming; I have been robbed of these memories. Dad, I gave you my word I would finish school and walk that stage loud and proud as a Velez. I remember your face at my 1st college graduation and I’ll be dreaming of that face when it happens again.
Love,
Ish, your baby boy.

I will update this post with information regarding his arrangements as they are planned, so everyone has an opportunity to know.
Luis Velez will be laid to rest along side his son (Esael) where both of their Urns will be on display at the Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
My family and I would like to complete Luis wishes by relocating Esael and Him into the same niche which requires us to have a state permit to relocate Esael ashes (the urn will remain in the same location just a bigger niche).
Sadly, like most Americans my father did not have funeral insurance and my grandmother, aunt, and I have to come together to arrange his final wishes. Thankful we have an amazing support system from our friends & family members through these difficult time.
