Luis Hererra Emergency Funds
My name is Kathy Winfree. I am Assistant Director of All Nations Cafe at Seacoast Vineyard Church Myrtle Beach. I have the honor every year to meet J1 Work and Travel Students from many countries..
This summer I met J1 Luis Herrera from Ecuador. A friend of his informed me that Luis was in the hospital with headaches, dizziness and seizures. Myrtle Beach church and community surrounded him with love support and prayers until his mother Alexandria (Fanny) was given an emergency visa to come to the US and support her son.
Due to several emergency situations Luis has been in a medically induced coma for almost 3 weeks now.
Fanny has been greatly handicapped in managing her son's medical care.
She is in need of legal cost so that she may be formally designated her son's Guardian which gives her legal authority to care for Luis and Conservator, which gives her legal authority to care for Luis property interest.
Being appointed a Guardian and Conservator involves costly formal legal proceedings in the local probate court.
This will require filing a court petition declaration regarding Luis medical condition and conducting an emergency hearing.
There are cost with every step of this emergency process.
Additionally the court will require everything to be formally translated as Fanny speaks no English.
This is a desperate need and emergency situation for this family.
Special thanks to young Luis who worked very hard at several jobs in Myrtle Beach before becoming ill.
