Hi, my name is Luis Riveron, and I’m a first-generation college student from Queens, New York. This fall, I’ll be attending SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Music to study Music Education with a minor in Music Business, a dream I’ve worked toward for years.

Music has been my passion for as long as I can remember. It’s been my safe place, my form of self-expression, and the way I’ve built community. Through school, church, and community programs, I’ve not only grown as a musician but discovered my calling: to inspire the next generation through music education.

I was raised by my single mom, who has worked tirelessly to support me and my dreams. College has always been a goal, but with the cost of higher education, paying for it alone has never been within our budget.

I’m incredibly grateful to have received over $22,000 in scholarships from SUNY Potsdam and the ACE program. While this is a huge blessing, there’s still a significant gap in my tuition and expenses that I can’t cover on my own, especially with books, housing, and daily living costs on top of tuition.

That’s why I’m reaching out for help. Every contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward my tuition and school-related expenses, helping me stay focused on my studies and my dream of becoming a music educator.
