I’m needing help with vet & medication costs for my beautiful cat Lu. She’s a Senior Rescue ❤️

On August 27, 2022, I went out to eat with a friend, this was my first outing in a very long time, due to a serious illness. I was using a walker and I was more concerned with falling than noticing the cages of cats assembled on the corner.. The nice woman that was organizing the adoptions, said out loud "what happened to you, you get in a bar fight?" and before I realized that she was talking to me, she said "she likes you!" There it was, this orange little paw wiggling through the bars of a cage. In my situation, the idea of taking care of a pet was out of the question. I was in PT rehab and my mobility was a mess. Then Mary, the Adoption lady, told me that the cat's name was Luella and she was believed to be about 10 years old.. Her owner had passed, and there was no one to care for Lu. Lu was taken from a kill shelter because they saw she still had light and life in her. And yes, light and life is what she gave ME. I never owned a pet before Lu.. and I had no idea what a tremendous gift and blessing they can be. Lu has literally gotten me through the most difficult time in my life.

I found out on March 21, 2024 that Lu and advanced cancer.

I knew that Lu was a senior cat when I rescued her, and that our time could be short.. But, I didn't think it would be this short.

I also knew that there would trips to the vet.. you know, simple things like shots, ear infections and rashes. But in Lu's case, her vet trips have not been simple and they have been very expensive. After all her tests, draining of her effused belly, scans.. the costs are more than I can't handle it all on my own. After all of that.. there is no treatment option left for her.

She's going to be home with me, by my side until she's gone.

Asking for this kind of help is hard.. But, this is a very hard time.
