It's Josh here, and I've had my beagle/bloodhound Lucy in my care since she was 6 months old.

At 10, last June, Lucy tore the ligament in her left knee while chasing another dog at the dog park, playing blissfully. Unfortunately at the same dog park, 11 months later, Lucy has torn the ligament in her other knee, chasing a dog, just like the first time.

Lucy's recovery from her first operation in August last year went off without a hitch and she was back to her feet in no time! Unfortunately, these operations leave a substantial hole in one's wallet, and I'm up for another $3,800 for the second procedure.

Lucy has been a fit and healthy dog for all of her 11 years aside from these two knee injuries, so pet insurance for her never really crossed my mind.

I'm eager to have Lucy continue her healthy & happy life but cannot do so without support - I am on a single income a have only just been able to financially recover from loss of work due to becoming severely unwell last September.

It's not my style to reach out, I am fiercely independent and prefer to solve problems in my own, but this one is unfortunately outside the realm of what I can provide.
