Lucy's final days

Lucy was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004, she was resilient and won her fight against cancer. She then went into remission for for several years. Living a life full of love, adventure, and service to all get friends and family. She never let her cancer be the main chapter in her story.. she taught us all that despite hardship.. life can be even more beautiful on the other side of it.

Unfortunately, in 2017.. after the birth of her first grandchild we learned her cancer had returned. This time in her bones.

This news was devastating, but she was ready to fight again. The doctors gave her little hope, just 6 months. That wasn’t good enough for her. So she fought. She did everything she could to stay in good spirits for her family. To see her granddaughter Sophia as much as possible.

Now, 4 years later… this battle has taken its toll on her body. Not her soul, her soul is as strong as it has ever been. She has done everything in her power to stay with us… and now it’s up to God.. for He knows the plans he has for.

Lucy is is still here with us, she is still fighting… but she is also listening and being comforted by the God she has loved her whole life. All we can do now is pray and stay hopeful. She has always been the one to uplift others… and now it’s our turn to lift her.
