Lucy is our eldest dog, and I’m raising funds to help my family recover from the cost of her emergency surgery. I got Lucy when she was just 13 weeks old, and she will be 10 in December. She is my first dog, the one I brought into the relationship, and after moving in with Stephanie and Nora, she has become even more a part of our family. She means the absolute world to the three of us.

On Sunday, August 16th, Lucy got into our bedroom and ate a section of carpeting. The fibers have snaked their way through her intestines and started to twist, causing a blockage. Because of that, she has lost her appetite and has been unable to pass any solid or liquid objects. Her surgery is meant to remove the affected section of intestine and reconnect the remaining tissue.

We were able to move forward with surgery as soon as possible because we were loaned the money, which gave Lucy the best chance to address this urgent health crisis quickly and support her recovery.
