On the 24th May I will be running the Edinburgh marathon to raise money for Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP). MAP was founded in 1982 following massacres of Palestinians in two refugee camps in Beirut. Their displacement followed The Nakba of 1948, forcing displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians when the genocidal state of Israel was created.

Since then, MAP has provided lifesaving assistance to Palestinians; in 2025 alone, MAP reached one million Palestinians.

Ethnic cleansing of Palestinians has always been Israeli policy, and since 2023, the death toll in Gaza from Israel's genocide has reached 70,000 (likely a severe underestimate). Under the current distraction of US-Israel attacks on Iran, Israel's expansion into Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon has intensified without proportionate media coverage. MAP has been working in these areas to provide necessary, emergency care, which is critical for keeping Palestine's fight for existence alive.
