Help Lucy get a Prosthetic Leg

Donation protected
Hi I’m Lily, Lucy’s mum.

On July 31st 2023 Lucy had to have her front left leg amputated due to a complication with a previous surgery she’d had on her elbow. She broke her elbow at 4 months old and had a screw to help the joint heal, it gave her 15 months more on 4 legs, she got to run on the beach, in forests and around the park. Before a blood supply issue became apparent which ultimately lead to the leg becoming unrepairable, leaving amputation the only option.

I’ve posted Lucy’s story on Instagram and Tiktok showing her adapting to life on three legs and a lot of people mentioned getting a prosthetic limb. Lucy is only 1, and still has her whole life ahead of her. All I want is for her to be able to run around and enjoy life for as long as possible. A prosthetic from 3D pets in the US will cost around £1,900 which unfortunately isn’t something that’s in my reach at this time.

The vets have said that 60% of her body weight is now on that one front leg, and there’s a risk that this could affect the leg. Having the prosthetic would relieve this pressure and prevent her remaining front leg from having any weight bearing issues or injuries in the future, because the last thing i’d want to happen is losing her remaining front leg

Any donations will go towards funding Lucy’s prosthetic which will help take some of the pressure off her remaining front leg, and allow her to go on those longer walks, and to maybe one day run along the beach once again x
