Hi my name is Carissa and I am wanting to help raise funds for the sweet Etheridge family to go to Disneyland. Lucy was diagnosed with PKAN, an extremely rare brain disorder. The long name is Pantothenate kinase-associated neurodegeneration. In short, iron in her brain cannot escape and is taking over her motor functions. So far, it’s taken over her hands. She cannot hold a pencil or a fork. She cannot write her name. Her feet are next as they are turning in. Eventually she’ll lose her swallowing capabilities so a feeding tube will be inserted and then finally her breathing will be affected.
I would love to help send Lucy to Disneyland for her birthday!
