Lucy Goes to College-
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Trish. My dog is named Lucy. She is going to college at Veterinary Medicine at Oregon State University. She turned 7 years in June of 2022. Lucy and I were on a routine Potty walk in our neighborhood. It is mostly flat sidewalks and an easy walk. We had turned to head home when she stopped walking. She couldn't move. She looked up at me with her big brown eyes and just stood there. I thought she has something in her paw. Nothing in her paw. She could not move! Finally, after some time passed, I decided I'd better carry her home. I didn't bring my cell phone so I couldn't call a friend. The walk home was hard on both of us so I had to stop often for breaks. When I got home, I didn't take her to a vet right away. But the pain did not pass, and it got worse and worse. I had to carry her downstairs, she could not walk to her dinner bowl. I carried her upstairs to bed. We went from one vet to another for help. She has had acupuncture, ultra sound, and she took herbs to relieve inflammation and reduce pain. This went on for months. In December a vet referred Lucy to the veterinary school in Corvallis, Oregon where there is a neurologist on staff, and where she could receive a full panel of examination and tests. I figured Lucy would be over it by April. Over the past 3 weeks, Lucy has exhibited more symptoms and Pain. So, we are going to Corvallis, Oregon. Lucy will be admitted 4/19/23 at 10:00 a.m. for 5 hours and they will tell me what she needs. Anything you can donate, will help me with expenses and help me bring Lucy back home. I Love Lucy!!
