Hello fellow animal lovers! As spring arrives, this handsome boy is falling a little down on his luck at a time when he should be running around his paddock enjoying the crisp mornings, warm afternoons ideal for a pasture nap, and cool nights under the stars. Lucky has been diagnosed with an infection of his coffin bone, causing extreme lameness. For the non-horsey people that does not mean he isn't cool, I assure you, he's the coolest. It means he can't put weight on his leg. For an animal of his size that poses major issues, life threatening one's. I ask that you consider donating on behalf of Lucky's loving family and friends to help ease the unexpected burden of the projected $8,000 in vet bills of his diagnosis, surgery, and after care. He will have to undergo surgery to clean out the infection and remove a portion of his hoof wall. He is expected to make a full recovery, but he has a long road ahead of him. I know there are so many of us that have been touched by Lucky here in New Hampshire as well as North Carolina and have witnessed how much of amazing horse he is. His mom loves him beyond words and works very hard to make sure he is safe and happy, but like many of us know these emergencies can quickly exceed our means.
