Luck of the Irish (nope!) for Sandra Plan & Denise Smieja

Hi! I'm Michelle Pryor - a friend of Denise Smieja. When Denise told me she was caring for her mom at a hosptial in Dublin, Ireland and might be there for several weeks, I offered to set up a GoFundMe for them to cover their unexepected costs.

During a visit to Dublin, Ireland, Sandra Plan had an unexpected medical emergency that required several surgeries. While Sandra is now recovering, she needs to remain in Ireland for several weeks to ensure her health stabilizes.

With extended time in the ICU, compounded by the uncertainty of how US insurance applies abroad, medical costs may likely be high for Sandra.

This sudden situation has also brought significant unforeseen expenses for Denise, who is by her mother’s side everyday at the hospital. These expenses include daily transportation to the hospital, hotel accommodations and meals.
