I grew up in the Midwest in Omaha, NE. Being from a smaller city, you tend to know what a sense of family is very quickly. Work hard, and always look out for those who look out for you Moving to such a large place like Houston, it took a while to find that sense of family again, being so far away from home! Working at Lucille’s has finally given me that “home away from home” family that I have been needing. This is an effort to look out for those, who constantly look out for me.
At Lucille's we're all one, united family - and our family of 35 teams members, means everything to us. As many of you know, due to the Covid-19, all restaurants & bars of Houston are required to close for dine-in customers and only open for carryout until March 30, 2020, and possibly much longer. Even though we stand behind the decision in the interest of our and your safety, our government hasn't provided us with any contingencies for this trying time.
For those of us in the service industry - this is a devastating blow. Therefore, we have made a firm commitment to our staff to ensure they're made whole during this time; we look out for one another and this crisis is no exception to our rule. With gratitude and the space for consideration of the rest of our hospitality working family, we have created this online fundraiser to show our support.
The Covid-19 dine-in closure has had an immense impact on the livelihood of our hardworking staff - our barbacks, food runners, line cooks, hostesses, bartenders, servers - the list goes on. These same individuals are also moms, dads, caretakers, husbands, wives, partners and students that rely on the money they bring home each week to survive. If you appreciate them, as we do, please consider making a contribution to help them weather these strange times. Any donation is greatly appreciated and with your help, we can make things a little easier. 100% of all donations will go towards supporting our community.
