Our handsome devil Lucifur has had a rough month. One morning we found him hiding under a couch and could clearly tell he was in some kind of pain. We took him to the Vet and they said he had crystals in his bladder that was causing a blockage, not allowing him to pee. The Vet was able to unblock him and kept him for two nights. A few weeks later he blocked again and was unblocked a second time. At this point we changed his food to a prescription urinary cat food and stopped giving him tap water. Last night (11/26) he blocked for the third time. We took him to the Vet a third time and it is now recommended that he needs a perineal urethrostomy surgery which widens the outflow tract of his urethra so he doesn't block again.
