On Monday, March 17, my roommates and I had to take our cat Lucie to an emergency vet clinic, for what turned out to be a very severe case of acute kidney disease. She ended up staying at the clinic until Friday, and needing fluids and several medications to save her life. This vet stay cost over 6000 dollars, money we currently don't have and had to take out credit for.
We're doing our best to nurse Lucie back to health, and it would be a lot less stressful if we knew the financial impact was lessened. This would also allow us to seek further veterinary care if she needed it, without fearing getting further into insurmountable debt.
We've had Lucie for a decade and cared for her through trauma recovery and hyperthyroidism treatment. We're not ready to let her go. Please help us hold on to her for a few more years.
