Luciana Maugeri: Stronger together
Donation protected

Friends and family,
My beautiful niece Luciana (Chi Chi), has been in the Pediatric ICU at CHOP bravely fighting an illness since late September.
**Update on Luciana**
It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of my beloved niece Luciana. On December 2, 2024, Heaven opened its doors to welcome Chi Chi as their newest little angel.
Luciana was a remarkable spirit, full of life and courage. Despite the challenges she faced, she taught us all the meaning of resilience and love. Her laughter could light up the darkest days, and her kindness touched everyone around her.
In her memory, we are reminded to cherish each moment and to support one another through difficult times. We will carry her spirit with us, honoring her legacy by continuing to spread love and warmth as she did.
We thank you for all the love and support during this difficult time. Together, let’s remember Luciana for her strength and the joy she brought into our lives.
Luciana brought so much joy and love to those around her. Let's come together to help ease their burdens. Please consider sharing or donating.
Luciana enjoys playing with her friends, having sleepovers, and getting creative with crafts and makeup. Family is super important to her, and she loves spending time with all her cousins. Her favorite color is purple, and she can't resist a good sing-along or dance party, especially if the songs are by Taylor Swift or Sabrina Carpenter.
Luciana has a deep love for the Blessed Mother Mary, which shines brightly in her heart. She cherishes her visits to the grotto at her church, where she feels a special connection to Mary.
11/6/24 Eulogy
The amount of support my family and Luciana have received during this time, especially today has been overwhelmingly beautiful. it goes to show just how special our Chi was.
Today, we gather to celebrate the incredible life of our sweet and spunky Luciana — lovingly known by all of us as Chi Chi, Chunchers, and Poppys best girl. Though her time with us was far too short, Luciana’s impact was anything but small. She was born with personality, and oh, did she make sure the world knew it.
From the moment she entered this world, Luciana had a presence. Her big, expressive eyes seemed to say, “I’m here, and you’d better keep up.” And that hair! Her wild, crazy, curly hair was a perfect reflection of her spirited nature — untamed, vibrant, and totally unforgettable.
Luciana had courage that was simply unmatched. She didn’t just face challenges — she embraced them with a fearlessness that took our breath away. Whether it was navigating a tough moment, standing tall for the people she loved, or diving headfirst into something new, Luciana’s bravery shone brightly. She taught us all what it means to be unafraid of life and to face it head-on with strength and determination. And there was no telling chi chi what to do - she’d tell you.
Luciana absolutely loved her family. She adored her brother Sonny and often played the role of his second mother, always looking out for him with care and affection. Her love extended to everyone around her. She often spent time with her cousins, her friends from school, and her family, especially at the beach, where she seemed happiest. Luciana cherished those moments surrounded by the people she loved.
She also had a well-documented love affair with ice cream. Whether it was chocolate, vanilla, or something wild and colorful, ice cream brought her so much joy — and, in true Chi Chi fashion, shed have to think about sharing.
Luciana lived fiercefully and lived fully. Her birth brought two big loving families together as one. It’s impossible to sum up all that Luciana was in just a few words, but one thing is certain: she left a mark on all of us.
She was a bright light, a spark of energy, and a source of endless love. While we’ll miss her more than words can say, we’ll carry her spirit with us always. In every laugh, in every act of courage, in every moment of unbridled joy, Luciana will be there — our Chi Chi, our Chunchers, and poppy’s girl.
Luciana, you were and always will be one of a kind. Thank you for blessing us with your beautiful, bold, and brilliant self. We love you to the moon and back. And just like your curls, our love for you will never be straightened out — it’ll stay wild, wonderful, and forever untamed, just like you.
