Luces Stellarum's Journey with the King's Singers
Donation protected
“Luces Stellarum" (Latin for “by the starlight”) is a premier vocal ensemble consisting of eight undergraduate students from the Conservatory of Music at Capital University. Upon hearing the world-renowned King’s Singers in concert, this group was formed.
Luces Stellarum are advocates for choral music of any and all genres from all time periods in both the secular and sacred traditions. Currently, they are preparing to be participants in the 2024 King’s Singers Summer School at Princeton University in late June. The ensemble consists of two sopranos, two countertenors, two tenors, and two bass-baritones. This arrangement of voice types produces a unique yet full sound that can only be achieved with this many singers. Luces Stellarum is very excited to offer their music.
Luces Stellarum is pleased to announce its acceptance to participate in the King's Singers Summer School at Princeton University. In light of this news, we are organizing a fundraising initiative aimed at alleviating the financial cost associated with participation in this program and covering travel expenses for our collegiate singers.
The upcoming summer school promises an enriching experience, featuring a comprehensive week-long course designed to refine participants' skills through intensive one-to-a-part singing, all under the expert mentorship of the King's Singers themselves. Complementing these sessions are tailored coaching sessions and a series of captivating special events led by distinguished guests. Past special guests have included such as John Rutter, Wallis Giunta, Bob Chilcott, Declan Costello, Eric Whitacre, Christopher Robinson, and Stephen Darlington, among others.
With your generous support, we aspire to provide these talented singers with a unique opportunity to engage with a world-renowned ensemble, fostering not only their musical proficiency but also enriching their educational journey with an unforgettable experience.
