On Monday, July 13th Lucas Regnier, known as "Luke" to many, suffered significant injuries as a result of a bicycle accident. Luke's spinal cord was damaged at the C5 and C6 vertebrae and there was also serious damage to his kidneys. As a result of these injuries, he has lost mobility and feeling to his hands and to his left leg. He has also incurred other problems associated with the spinal cord injury and the kidney damage.
Luke will require substantial rehabilitation in order to be in a position to regain the use of his hands and to walk. During the lengthy rehabilitation process, Luke will not be able to work.
July 24th - Luke is stable and was moved this morning to an inpatient rehabilitation center in Little Rock. They are hoping with a good deal of therapy he will regain most of the movement and feeling he has lost. A clear look at what his final recovery will look like may take up to a year.
Luke and his wife Anna have four children who attend the Fayetteville Creative School and Fayetteville Public Schools. Luke is an attorney Springdale law firm of Harrington, Miller, Kieklak, Eichmann & Brown, P.A. while Anna is in her second year of law school at the University of Arkansas.
