Lucas Stansberry - Lahaina Fire Relief
Donation protected
My name is Logan Shepardson, and I am raising funds for Lucas Stansberry after the devastating fire that gutted Lahaina on August 8th. Lucas and I met the first week after I moved to Lahaina in 2006, and has been one of my very best friends ever since. Any funds donated will go directly to Lucas to be used to help carry him through this difficult time, or for him to help others in need.
Lucas lived in the Ohana next to the home of his Girlfriend, Ashley, and her Grandmother (all pictured). After evacuating to escape the fire on August 8th, the home and all of its contents were lost. If you're following along, you know that all of west-side Maui has been forever changed.
Nearly everyone I call a friend has had a chance to meet Lucas at some point. He is a kind, funny, and friendly person who most people remember for his great sense of humor. Most people don't know that Lucas spent most of the last year battling a major health concern that kept him from working until only recently. Since being displaced, he, like everyone in Lahaina, has been looking out for others while sleeping on a friend's couch with the few belongings he evacuated with. Most West-side Maui residents will have little to no income for the foreseeable future, and they need our help NOW to make sure they can feed themselves, buy gas, clothes, and other essentials, and find some kind of living situation as they begin to think about the future. Please, if there is anything you can spare, help my friend Lucas and others in need.
Lahaina is a historic, generational family town where many people's roots run deep. So many families lost everything, and if you are reading this, I beg that you contribute what you can spare to Lucas and any of the other individuals or verified fundraising campaigns out there that will help this community rebuild. Most people around the world know Lahaina as a beautiful tourist town, but the Aloha Spirit that you experienced there is not about the beaches, it is about the people. Lahaina is home to working people, a tight-knit community that was turned upside down in a matter of hours. If you care for these people, if you care for this place, or if you just have compassion in your heart for a community that needs help, now is the time to step up and donate. There will be many months, even years of struggle to rebuild, but Lahaina is up to the challenge.
Thank you for reading, and thank you for anything you can do to help.
