Hi everyone, my name is Kira. It was not on my bingo card to ever make one of these but the events of the last week have placed me beyond my means to do this on my own.

My cat Luca has been having urinary tract issues for about 3-4 weeks. We started with treating for a UTI and pain management. His issues continued. Got him more tests, anti inflammatory meds, medicated food. And the last few days he has still been struggling to pee until yesterday when he stopped peeing all together, began crying in pain and beginning to vomit. Off to the emergency vet we go. My baby was officially completely blocked. I was told the treatment would be 48 hours hospitalization with a catheter to unblock him. After 3 different vets attempted I was called and told they cannot fix it and my two options were emergency surgery or euthanize him.

This morning I went in accepting I could not afford this surgery so I would have to put him down. But I really could not handle the idea of giving up on him at just 2 years old.

I know many people will not understand why I would make this decision but I know the right people will.
