Lucas Ove Children Fund

Hi, my name is Chase Cookman and we are fundraising for my sister-in-law, Jenny Scott and her 3 children, Silas, Mahalia, and Lakai. On December 14, 2023 we suddenly lost Lucas Anthony Ove, or as I knew him, Uncle Lucas.

Lucas was a soft-hearted father of three that took the challenges of life head on. I only knew Lucas for the last 5 years as we raised our children side by side and navigated the ups and downs of parenthood together.

Uncle Lucas will be missed most by the children in the community he was able to interact with during his visits to the Ruthven parks and neighborhood driveway basketball games, he was the cool uncle.

Lucas and I often spoke as he was hungry to learn more about life and how to be the best dad he could be. He had a smile that would only induce a smile in return.

As I reflect on our time together, the lesson that God has put right in front me, but I’ve missed it for so long, is now so clear. Spend more time with your kids.

My photographic memory will only show me one picture over and over. It’s the image of a dad pushing a stroller to the park with one hand and holding the hand of the last child with his other. The memory is one that displays the struggles, along with the patience, bravery, and most importantly, dedication it takes to be a great dad.

All donations will go to Jenny and her children to pay off their car, house, and manage monthly expenses.
