Lucas Needs Your Support for His Autism Therapy

Hi, I'm Doinita Chertic, trying to raise money for my autistic nephew, Lucas Andrei.

Here is a message from his mom, my dear sister Nicoleta.

“Greetings from Brașov, România!

I'm Nicoleta Mariana Andriescu, a single mom of two wonderful boys, a 15-year-old teenager and my youngest, 5-year-old Lucas Andrei.

Lucas was diagnosed with Autism (ASD) two years ago, and since then, he has started specialized therapy sessions. Currently, in parallel with ABA therapy three times a week, he goes to a special daycare program for kids with mental disorders in our city. He is not accepted into a normal school program, but I hope one day he will be.

Lucas Andrei is an intelligent and sociable kid who has responded well to the ABA and Sensory therapy, but there is still a long way to go, especially with speech and basic body needs. He speaks a few intelligible words and sometimes two-word sentences. His autism specialists advised me to also try other therapies, like Neurofeedback, to increase his chances for recovery and development. The goal is to help him, one day, be a student at a normal school and increase his chances for a life close to normality.

All these therapies and the daily struggles for Lucas’ development are financially overwhelming us. My monthly salary covered the expenses so far, but for the extra therapies, there remains no budget. We are grateful for any donation, no matter how small. It can help us do this Neurofeedback therapy that’s not covered by insurance and costs close to $9000/year here in our city.
