During our fixture with Brantham Athletic in the FA Cup on the 16th August, our skipper and good friend Lucas Kirkpatrick suffered a devastating knee injury. We were all gutted to recently find out he has not only ruptured his ACL but also torn his MCL, sustained a complex meniscus tear and partially fractured his tibia. The very worst news.

This type of injury will require extensive treatment and surgery on top of a long recovery and rehab process. Lucas will face a significant period of time off work as a consequence which will not only affect him but his beautiful young family who depend on him too.

Lucas is someone who has always been very active, hardworking and supportive of others. As well as being a fantastic captain for Barton Rovers FC over the last few years. Any contribution you can make here will go directly towards covering his medical expenses, rehabilitation costs and helping him get back on his feet.

I know how popular Lucas is within the football community and I have no doubt there are plenty of other people out there willing to help him along with his recovery and return to doing the things he loves as quickly as possible.
