Luca's Heart Journey

On September 30, 2021, our son baby Luca was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), a Congenital Heart Disease (CHD). Baby Luca’s left side of the heart did not develop well and will require a minimum of 3 open-heart surgeries before the age of 5. The first surgery will be during the first 7 days that he is born and the second one around 3-6 months old. Luca will be born in NY Columbia Presbyterian Children’s Hospital in New York City because there are no doctors in NJ that can complete the lifesaving surgery that he will need. Luca is already showing that he is a little warrior in his scans and how active he is already! He will be making his entrance into this world the last week of February.

We created this Go Fund Me page to help us cover the expenses of tolls to enter NYC, parking, food, and other hospital bills/expenses that are not covered by our insurance. Baby Luca and his mommy will remain at the hospital throughout his entire recovery. It is unknown how long Luca will be in the hospital. Luca’s dad will be traveling to NY every day to see him. We would like to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for their endless support and prayers. It means the world to us during these tough times.
