Lucas Heady is a bright, cheerful, full of life 6-year-old boy who loves legos, nerf guns and Xbox. On July 25th Lucas became ill and on the 26th he was flown Covenant Women and Children Hospital in Lubbock Texas for emergent care. On July 27th he was diagnosed with Precursor B Cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia. He and his family are currently battling this disease and Lucas has begun chemo treatments this week.  Lucas will remain in the hospital for the next 8 days receiving care and preparing him for the months of treatment to come. Lucas will travel to Lubbock weekly for the next 2 months and then then receive care based on the care plan his amazing doctors and parents feel is best for him. While his parents remain by his side and we are asking for prayers for the family and Lucas we are also asking for help with medical, traveling and lost wages that Tony and Jamie will incur.  Tony is a proud member of the Artesia Police Department and Jamie is a caregiver for J&J Home Health.  Any amount is helpful to the family and prayers are very much appreciated.
