Lucas’ Post-Fire Restoration Fund
Donation protected
On Thursday, January 2nd, Lucas Klinge was one of fifteen people forced out of a Brooklyn apartment building when fire swept through the building next door, and then through his building, causing extensive fire, smoke, and water damage. Luckily, Lucas was able to escape the building unharmed. The Red Cross has been very helpful in the short term, but he will need to replace much of his things, and quickly look for another apartment.
Lucas is a recent college graduate, working to establish himself professionally in the city, is in the middle of an extensive job search, and just moved into this apartment on November 1st.
Lucas will need to replace furniture, bedding, clothing, kitchen equipment, art supplies, and more. In addition, he will need to put down first and last month's rent on a new apartment. Our estimate for replacement costs and expenses for moving forward is approximately $2,000.
Whatever you're able to offer to help out at this time of dire need is greatly appreciated. Lucas appreciates whatever you can do, and will reach out with a personal thank you at a later date.
Here is a video and some pictures from Lucas' apartment the day of and after the fire:
