Luca's Vet Bills
Donation protected
I adopted Luca on January 16th through True North Animal Rescue where he was rescued from a Puppy Mill in Missouri (the photo on the left is from his first vet visit where he weighed less than 2 pounds at 3 months old).
The day I brought him home I immediately noticed that something was up. I took him to the vet that afternoon and after an X-ray he was diagnosed with advanced kennel cough and parasites. Four X-rays and several rounds of antibiodics later and Luca is still recovering from Pneumonia that he developed along the way.
As of 3/20 the vet believes his best bet is for a lung wash and further testing to understand why he is resistant to the medication. This testing will be an additional $3,000 (at minimum) on top of the $2,500 that has already been spent out of pocket.
All that to say, this has become incredibly expensive. Pet Insurance is unable to cover as this is all pre-existing since he developed it in the first 14 days I got him, and during the waiting period. I am raising money to help with these unexpected costs.
