We’re Ayden and Lexi. Earlier this year, in April, we received the most unexpected yet beautiful news — we were going to be parents. From the very beginning, we were overjoyed and so thankful for the precious gift God had given us.

For a while, everything seemed normal. Our doctor’s appointments went smoothly, and each ultrasound filled our hearts with hope and excitement. But as time went on, we received news that changed everything.

After a detailed ultrasound, doctors noticed some serious concerns. We were referred to specialists and eventually sent to UCSF in San Francisco to see some of the best experts in the country. Through countless tests — including fetal heart echos, in-depth ultrasounds, and an MRI — we learned that our sweet baby boy faces many severe complications:

    •    He has no right lung and only about 10% of his left lung.

    •    His heart lacks the veins and valves that would normally connect to the right lung and is pushed all the way to the right side of his chest.

    •    His left kidney is located in his pelvis instead of his abdomen.

    •    His jawbone is very narrow, causing his tongue to sit farther back in his throat.

    •    And he has no gallbladder.

Despite this heartbreaking news, we continue to pray and trust in God’s plan. We know our baby boy’s life — no matter how long or short — has a purpose, and we are cherishing every moment we have with him.

We are creating this GoFundMe to help cover the costs of his cremation and other immediate expenses we will face after his birth. This is not something we ever imagined having to prepare for, and any amount — no matter how small — means the world to us.
