My name is Luca and I am 10 years old. As many people know I have been growing my hair for over 4 years. My hair is a popular topic of conversation, with people often asking “when are you going to cut it?” or saying “Wow what beautiful hair don’t ever cut it!”

I love my hair, but the time has come to pass it on to someone who can use it more than me. It has always been my intention to donate my hair and have a fundraiser for organisations that hold a special place in my heart.

My hair will be donated to the Australia Alopecia Areata Foundation who create wigs for Aussie kids with alopecia. I have chosen this foundation with a special little friend in mind who was diagnosed with alopecia in 2021 at the age of 3.

The money raised will be distributed to the following:

Three quarter's of the total raised will be donated to the Royal Children Hospital – Neurology Department. I have chosen this Department specifically as I have the best neighbour in the world who works as Paediatric Neurologist at the RCH. I know this will help children in times that they need it.

The remainder will be going to RISE the performance experience. I have now been lucky enough to complete two RISE programs and this will allow a young artist to have access to the program who may not otherwise be able to join. RISE has been super special to me; it is my safe place to be around like-minded young artists. RISE is first and foremost about improving the mental health and wellbeing of young people in the performing arts. The program works with young artists pursuing a professional career on stage.
