Hi my name is Luca, some people also know me as Ted, I’m a 21 year old with a long list of chronic illnesses.

Recently my functional neurological disorder, got worse than it has been in years, and I’ve had to accept that going forward I’m going to be an almost full time wheelchair user.

I used an nhs chair at first, the one in the first photos, but have been gifted a wonderful second hand active wheelchair which you can see in the third photo, this has made a huge difference and this chair doesn’t hurt as much to push, however living in Brighton the terrain is far from flat and I’m really struggling with the hills and my stamina, so I’m raising money for an electric attachment like the ones pictured above.

Life is extremely hard at the moment, I’m spending a lot of time in hospital, and I’m working with many teams to figure out things like accessible housing, physio, and learning my bodies new limits. Due to being in hospital for such long periods of time this year my pip has been paused a lot, so money is even more of a worry than normal. For these reasons I realistically won’t be able to get an attachment without fundraising, it would take years to have enough money, being disabled isn’t cheap.
