Hi, my name is Jess Derick, I am doing this fundraiser to help my nephew’s family. Martha and Anthony have spent many days and weeks in the hospital with their son, Luca, over his first almost 4 months of life.

He was born as a premie and with a growth stunt so was only 3.5 lbs at birth. He spent his first 46 days in the nicu. He has been having a lot of issues gaining weight. They most recently went back into the hospital with him on August 16th and he has been diagnosed with failure to thrive. He now has a feeding tube to help him gain weight.

Martha has been driving up every morning and spending the whole day with him and Anthony joins her after work. They are exhausted drained and getting into financial difficulties too.

Anthony is going to take a month off unpaid to be home with both Martha and Luca when he is released.

Martha was sent to the ER yesterday and diagnosed with severe dehydration. They need any help they can get.

Funds will be used to help them financially and for gas going to and from UVM medical center (45 mins each way) and food and supplies that are needed.
