Over the past weekend Luca decided to jump down a few stairs in excitement to greet me in the yard. Unfortunately, while doing so, he tore his ACL and is in need of immediate surgery. After speaking to multiple vets and going over the different forms of surgery it has come to my attention that the surgery will range anywhere from $4,000-$5,000 due to his size. Along with this news, I was also told by 3 vets that he has a 90% chance of tearing his other ACL within the next 2 years due to the strain being placed on it due to his current injury. I adopted Luca back in February from City Dogs in Cleveland and he quickly became my best friend. From being my 75 pound lap dog to having non-stop zoomies, he is quite the character and has an amazing personality. Luca is only 3 years old and is very energetic and I would like for him to live the best life he can and surgery has become the only option for that, so I am here asking for some help to cover some of the cost of his surgery and what will come after. He will have an 8-12 week recovery period which will require some rehab and medications to assist with the pain along with the overall function of his leg. Any help would be greatly appreciated. He has become my best friend and as many of you have seen we are always together and I’d love for him to be able to continue to live an adventurous life!
