We will be launching a school called the Lubna Khalid Digital Micro school, which will take 100 children off the streets of Lahore (her ancestral city in Pakistan) and teach them reading and writing in English and Urdu and Math, and make them fully functionally literate in 5 years. The school allows kids to learn at their own pace using digital games on low cost Android tablets and over the last 6 years we’ve seen kids with no literacy show dramatic improvements in just 3 months. Lubna was one of our first supporters and has been with us every step of the way so it’s only fitting that one of the first micro schools we launch in Lahore carry her name.
