Lt Cruz is in the fight of his life

In 2017, Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico. Empowered By Light and the solar company Sunrun immediately launched a joint mission to save lives by installing solar energy systems on the island’s fire stations—many of which had no power.

One of the key people who made this effort possible needs our help. Lieutenant Francisco Cruz, fondly know as” LT,” is near the end of a 35-year career in the Puerto Rico fire service and is now facing the hardest challenge of his life. His wife, Sheila, of over 30 years is fighting abdominal cancer and the medical bills are piling up. The problem is they are NOT under funded with love, empathy or compassion but need financial assistance to keep their heads above water.

LT was there for all of us, and now it is time to be there for him.
