Lt. Col. John F. Stuart, USAF - Full Honors Military Service at Arlington National Cemetery
My father, Lt. Col. John F Stuart, the pilot/aircraft commander of a B-52 together with 5 other crew members were part of part of Operation Linebacker II (call sign Orange 3). Lt. Col. Stuart's aircraft was shot down over North Vietnam on December 20, 1972. Five days before Christmas, 1972, one month before the Peace Treaty was signed. Lt. Col. Stuart is still MIA, body not recovered. At that time, he left behind his wife, five (5) children, his parents, a brother and two sisters.
Because his body has not yet been recovered, a formal military burial service has never been conducted to honor his service and ultimate sacrifice. We are blessed with the opportunity to have a full honors military service with a B-52 flyover on his behalf on July 26, 2019, at Arlington National Cemetery (Washington, D.C.).
Of the 5 children, there is now only myself and my two sisters. My sisters live in Indiana, are on limited incomes and cannot afford the expenses to attend the service to honor our father. So I am setting up this GoFundMe for their benefit. We need to book hotel and airfare by June 1, 2019.
