Chris Lewis spent 30 years loyally serving as a Lieutenant at the Kane County Sheriffs Dept. and finally recently retired to spend more time with his family only to be Covid infected on Christmas Eve (His 52nd birthday.) His wife Liz was forced into disability when there were medical errors during back surgery and things were not going as planned. Chris developed Covid double pneumonia and this awful disease hit him fiercely. The first of January he was hospitalized and placed on a ventilator. The medical staff quickly realized the vent would not save him and he was taken to Chicago and placed on a heart lung bypass (ECMO) for what they are saying could be well over 3 months. The doctors say he has a 50/50 chance but they don’t know how big God is! Chris is a faithful man, a good husband of 30 years and a loving father of 3. Through her own injury Liz loyally and faithfully makes the journey to Chicago to sit at Chris’ bedside and encourage him to fight on. This is not a sprint but a marathon for his life and he is fighting like a warrior. The cost of travel, expenses and the loss of Chris’ supplemental job is taking its toll on the family finances and that’s the last thing they should be worried about.
