This year, along with our two teachers Mr Ashley Boyd and Mrs Jessica Deane, our team of eight Year 11 and 12 students are attempting the Kokoda Challenge. The event is held annually in the Gold Coast Hinterland in July. The very difficult trek is intended to honour our diggers as well as raise much needed funds for the Kokoda Youth Foundation. We are completing the trek in honour of Longreach's last surviving WWII veteran, Ernie McCullagh who fought in Papua New Guinea when he was only 19 - only 1-2 years older than we are now.

We are hoping to raise a significant amount of sponsorship money to cover our expenses to travel to the event and to donate to the Kokoda Youth Foundation.
