In 2012, L came to the US from Honduras to escape gun violence and worked hard to build a stable life for her family. That life was shattered this past summer. During a routine immigration check-in, L was unexpectedly detained and later deported to Honduras, leaving behind four heartbroken children (ages 15, 9, 3, and 2 years).

L’s mother, M, dropped everything to support her daughter, taking unpaid leave from work to care for her grandchildren and fight for L’s case. Unfortunately, M’s health has suffered during this time, as she lost her health insurance and can no longer access her primary doctor to care for her diabetes.

Young children need their mother. Funds raised will help cover plane tickets to reunite these four children with their mom, M’s lost wages, and outstanding legal fees. This family urgently needs our support. Any contribution—whether a donation or simply sharing this page—is greatly appreciated.

En 2012, L llegó a los EEUU de Honduras para escapar la violencia. Trabajó duro para construir una vida estable para su familia. Esa vida se hizo añicos en junio. Durante una cita rutinaria de inmigración, L fue detenida de forma inesperada y posteriormente deportada a Honduras, dejando atrás a cuatro hijos desconsolados (de 15, 9, 3 y 2 años).
