Veteran's Day Dinner

Join us in honoring our Stevens County Veterans. You are cordially invited to help us celebrate the service and sacrifice of about 400 of our military veterans on Veteran's Day, November 11, 2018. The event will take place at the Ag Center here, in Colville, Washington. We will be providing a steak Bar-B-Q for all United States military veterans in attendance, beginning at 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm.
It has been years since an event such as this has been held here in Stevens County to honor our Veterans. The Lake Roosevelt Yacht Club will be taking this opportunity to say "welcome home and thank you" to all of our military veterans on Veteran's Day this year and we could use your help.
When it comes to our veterans we have heard that "All gave some and Some gave All." So we believe when it comes to our sponsors for this event the most important thing is that everyone who really wants to, will be able to participate and give some. Some of you can give a little and some are able to give a lot. No matter what you give it is all greatly appreciated.
Many vets remember when it was time to eat we would all get in the "chow line" and there would be a line of messmen serving us anything from eggs and bacon to mystery meat, mush and creamed corn. However, this time we have some special volunteers serving our veterans. We will have Local, County, State, and Federal leaders as well as Air Force, Army, Marine and Naval Officers serving up a sumptuous steak dinner in order to say thank you to our Stevens County Veterans.
This year Veteran's Day is extremely special because at the Eleventh hour on the Eleventh day of the Eleventh month in the year 1918 the Armistice was signed to end World War 1. We will be taking Eleven Minutes to pay special tribute to all of our Veterans who have served our Nation over the past 100 years.
We would be genuinely honored if you could join us in sponsoring this event and show your support. We are only calling on those who are truly thankful for the sacrifices made by our Veterans who have served. Any monetary gifts, services or in-kind donations will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much for your sponsorship. After consulting with meal planners who have catered events like this we have come up with an estimated cost of approximately $15. per meal. That accounts for about $6,000. We have also arranged for an 8' x 12' American Flag which has flown over the United States Capitol Building to be presented at the event as part of our opening ceremony and National Anthem ($124.88). We also have some very important speakers who will be addressing the attendees and we need a small PA system and microphone which is about $301.56. Building rental, insurance and other costs are about $486.00 for our First Annual Dinner to honor veterans.
