With great sadness, we are sorry to report the loss of one of our own, Jeff Leach, who passed away suddenly last Wednesday, May 3. A loving husband and father, Jeff was a family man in every sense of the word, and leaves behind six beautiful children and his beloved wife of 22 years, Betsy. In Betsy’s words, ‘Jeff was a force of nature determined to provide for his family and to give them the life he felt they deserved.’
Jeff is survived by Betsy and their children: Caden (18), Bianca (17), Tyson (15), Declan (10), Daphne (8) and Lorelai (7), and they could use our support now more than ever. LRS is setting up this GoFundMe page to facilitate donations in support of the family and in remembrance of Jeff’s life; members of our operations and human resources teams remain in regular contact with Betsy. The family plans to hold a private memorial service next month at their home in Kansasville, Wisconsin, fittingly on Father’s Day, June 18th.
Jeff joined LRS shortly after our purchase of Lakes Disposal a year ago, as a Swing Driver operating from our Wadsworth, Illinois, facility. Admired by his colleagues both past and present, Jeff worked in the Waste and Recycling industry for approximately 15 years and was always willing to lend a hand and go the extra mile. In fact, Jeff was considered the go-to person whenever an issue would surface based on his extensive knowledge of our business and equipment.
All of us at LRS extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to the Leach Family.
May Jeff’s enduring memory be a blessing to his family during this incredibly difficult time.
